We asked our members to answer some questions about Jim Daly Racing to give members of the public a little insight of what its like to be part of our syndicate.
(See below posts to see what they had to say!)
Here are the questions they answered:
1: Why did you join Jim Daly Racing? 2: What has been your favourite moment since being part of Jim Daly Racing? 3: What is your favourite thing about Jim Daly Racing? 4: Why should people join Jim Daly Racing?
I hope this shows anyone interested in getting involved in greyhound racing, what it would be like if they joined our syndicates!
We have a range of people involved in our syndicates; From police officers to footballers!
Everyone is welcome!

Hi Jemma, a friend of mine had dogs with jim & told me about this dog called FFC, so off to romford i go to watch him, he got well beat but showed fantastic early pace & just never made the bend, but enough seen, this is going to be a fast dog,so i was straight in, Best momment obviously winning the puppy event on SKY a great roar & thrill, plus a few quid on, The best thing IS the forum keeps you active & even the friendly comps i enjoy, Why should people join, simple its cheap as chips, i have dogs on my own & it can sometimes be expensive, like £800 for a vets bill i had a little while ago, compaired to the syndicate, a packet of fags a week is dearer, i'll say no more !

Hi Jemma it's oli When I was little (even though I still am ) my dad was in a syndicate with 4 other people the greyhound was called water crazy and ever since water crazy got sold I did not be in to greyhounds as much as I was . But last year when it was my cousins 18th birthday party at Doncaster greyhound stadium I saw a advertisement of greyhound syndicates so when I got home I looked and looked for syndicates and came a cross JDR and when I saw a picture of trump that was it I nagged and nagged my dad to buy a share . Being able to come and see all the dogs on Sundays .being able to watch the dogs progress . I think people should join JDR because you get as much buzz having a share then owning one outright

Hi Jemma, The following answers to your questions... 1) Affordable open and graded greyhound racing and the everyday involvement of ALL the greyhounds(share or not) in the kennel and the information and chat on the forum. 2) Gotta be Trump winning his first open race Jemma. 3) To run a syndicate as big as JDR it takes a lot of hard work by Jim all kennel staff and admin.I do enjoy the Forum as it lets the syndicate members air their views(good or bad).and is open for all involved to express their opinion. 4)People should join JDR for ALL the above reasons i have stated and how easy it is to get involved for a small outlay to enjoy greyhound racing at its best..Like minded people happy to go racing and enjoy the social life as well.." .Love your Greyhounds"

Why did you join JDR? I was very impressed when Jim bred/reared/trained Jesters Nap to win the Puppy Derby. What has been your favourite moment since joining JDR? Watching Jackies Ninja and her ssters grow up. I'm still excited about following their progress. What is your favourite thing about JDR? The friendly openness of Jim and all the rest of his team. You feel part of it when a syndicate dog runs well, even if you are not a member of that syndicate. You follow the kennel's runners as if you were supporting a football team. Why should people join JDR? As someone who has owned greyhounds since the 70's, I just wish there had been someone as forward thinking then as Jim is now. It was expensive to get into the sport 'on your own', and I made a few mistakes along the way. Syndicates are a great way for inexperienced newcomers to join the sport and learn the ropes. Also during this recession a lot of people can't afford to own dogs outright any more, particularly the open class pups that Jim sources from Droopys Stud. I can assure you that the buzz you get when your dog wins is just as great whether you own 100% or 10%. There is also a sense of togetherness to share your success with other likeminded people.

Name: Martin and Hannah How did you hear about Jim Daly Racing Syndicates? We were interested in getting our own dog when Jim told us about the benefits of the syndicates.
What made you decide to get involved in our syndicate? Seemed the best way for us to get started as first time owners and is a lot easier on the costs.
How long have you been involved in the syndicate? Linney Mckinney is our first syndicate joined, so only a matter of days, so far!!
What are your favourite perks of being part of the syndicate? We are yet to find out but are looking forward to meeting new people and talking about the dogs.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about joining Jim Daly Racing Syndicates? Do it!! Couldn't think of a better syndicate or better trainer in Jim, he has been very helpful with any questions we had. If its the cost that are holding you back on getting your own greyhound then a syndicate is the way to go.

Q). 3. Only six months, but I hope it's only the beginning of a long friendship.
Q). 4. 1). Owning a syndicate dog at Kelva kennels is affordable.
2). Visiting the kennels and walking your own dog, touching them, getting to know them.
3). Being able to watch your dog run on TV or in the betting shop.
4). Meting the Kelva staff and other owners at the kennels.

Q).1 I got intrested in the JDRacing through watching Jim on RPGTV and find more about the syndicates through SMGH Racing Club. Q).2 I like the write up on Business Bound when published on the website. Q).3 I've been involved for around three months now. Q).4 I think for me the perks are shared cost of owning a dog that could be something really special at a fraction of the cost ,meeting same like minded people. Q).5 Best advice check the website out, speak to other members, and most important speak to Jim or Jemma or any of the JD racing team members and you'll be Sold

Tony Harris.
1. Bizarrely was watching "Life on Mars" TV programme on Netflix, then turned over to watch RPGTV and saw a dog running at Henlow with the same name. The dog ran well, and I searched it on Google, found JDR syndicate. and here I am.
2. I liked the idea of joining a syndicate. Something new for me.
3. I've been involved since March 2014. And very much enjoying it!
4. The obvious advantages of joining the syndicate are the low monthly kennel bills (hopefully). It also gives you the chance to buy into a greyhound that may occasionally be out of your price range. I also greatly enjoy the banter on this forum, and the open day was a huge bonus.
5. My advice to someone considering joining would be to give it a go. If you're looking for a fairly inexpensive way to get into ownership, this is the way forward.
