1) Jim Daly Racing Syndicates confers to the members certain benefits associated with the club’s ownership of the greyhounds currently in training plus those in the breeding programme. The benefits are as follows:
(a) An opportunity to own a share in the aforementioned greyhound.
(b) To partake in club social gatherings/evenings at designated venues.
(c) An exclusive online forum for updates inc photos
(d) Prize money (Where applicable) will normally be placed towards future kennel fees. If a Prize of greater than £2000 is won in any race, the Prize will be divided equally between shareholders once the money is received by JDR Syndicates.
(2) Membership of a syndicate is deemed to be of the duration of the greyhounds racing career provided during that time (If applicable) all fee’s relating to kennelling costs have been met as per the terms and conditions agreement listed herein.
(3) Should any syndicate member fall behind with payments (if applicable) later than 60days from the original invoice their share in the greyhound is then to be made re-available for purchase by another member or a third party at the original purchase fee regardless of duration of membership.
3(a) There will be no refunds.
(4) A pool will be kept in a holding account containing all prize monies relating to a particular greyhound with the monthly kennelling fees and all other associated costs taken out of the pool. (See 1 (d) for further reference)
(5) The greyhounds shall remain in the training care of the designated trainer until such time as the greyhound is retired or is deceased.
(6) The trainers kennelling costs (Where applicable) will be charged at £180 per month +VAT (subject to fluctuation), per greyhound with additional costs only charged when required. These costs will include but not be limited to Veterinary, Specialist Inspections & Treatment, Medication and homing costs if applicable .Financial records relating to all monies will be kept and will be available upon written request (with minimum of 7 days’ notice)
6(a) Jim Daly keeps any run money and 20% of win money earned due to the lower kennel costs.
(6) Membership should be deemed primarily as entertainment and socialising. It should not be deemed solely as an “Investment Opportunity”.
(7) In view of the unpredictable nature of greyhound racing no specific guarantees can be made as to the frequency of the dog’s appearances or the levels of prize money the dog earns. Race selection for a greyhound will be solely at the trainer’s discretion at all times. If the trainer sees fit some advertised races/trials may be cancelled at short notice.
(8) If a career changing decision needs to be made during the racing career of a greyhound, all paid up members will be consulted by Jim Daly on the proposal and asked to cast a vote. A decision will only be made if a clear majority is upheld from the voting procedure. Such examples of decisions would include but not be limited to a change to hurdling or retirement from racing for breeding duties.
(9) Many racecourses offer concessions for owners. Where possible for multiple member syndicates we will endeavour to communicate prior to a racing engagement as to what is available for members that particular day/evening. With the amount of members in some syndicates it may become necessary to rotate those members receiving benefits to give all members equal opportunities.
(10) It is the intention of the administration of Jim Daly Syndicates to keep members informed of all matters pertaining to the syndicates at all times. The exclusive member’s only area of our online forum www.jimdalygreyhounds.proboards.com, will be used throughout the duration of the membership of our syndicates to achieve this.
(11) Members are NOT permitted to lay the clubs own greyhounds on betting exchanges and with bookmakers, NO information received from Jim Daly Racing or its trainer shall be deemed as instruction to follow a laying practice.
(12) All members must be aged 18 or over.
(13) Provisions for a syndicate greyhound’s retirement will be made at the necessary time and if the greyhound is deemed to require a pet home then the members relating to that greyhounds syndicate will be given 1st option to give him/her a home.
(14) Under welfare provisions it will remain the trainer or his representative’s decision on which course of action to take in the event of a syndicate greyhound being seriously injured.
(15) Flash photography at racecourses is strictly forbidden. Should you wish to have photographs of your dog(s), they will be provided; alternatively you may take some at the trainer’s kennels provided a prior appointment has been made with the trainer to arrange a kennel visit.
(16) Where relevant, changes to the terms and conditions herein, shall be submitted to all members in writing giving a minimum of 30 day’s notice of intention.
