It's been a good week for Kelva Kennels again. We managed to get our first open race win of the year at Harlow's Racing Post Greyhound TV fixture and our overall strike rate was good with 6 winners from 16 runners, this past week. Kelva Majestic won a maiden at Harlow on Tuesday January 19 and there's a bit of egg on this trainers face after that win! Kelva Majestic or Ronnie as he is know at the kennels is now 3 years old but when he started his career he couldn't achieve grading time at Sittingbourne .so I asked a friend of mine if she wanted to have Kelva Majestic as Harlow grading time was easier than Sittingbourne and I thought he'd have more chances of winning races. She took him but after less than a week I got a call asking if we could take him back because his barking was upsetting the neighbours! We took Ronnie back again and tried him at the sprint trip and he eventually graded in. The staff at Kelva kennels affectionately nicknamed him 'Ronnie the reject' to take the mick out of me for giving him away He's now 61 races into his career he's won 16 times including a recent Yarmouth A1 win and followed it up with the Harlow open race success. Well done Ronnie on proving me wrong. Lesson learned. Sometimes we need to show a bit more patients
