Christmas is now over and its time to wish everyone a happy new year from all of us at Kelva Kennels
We are typically quite at this time on the racing front but we do still have some exciting news already this year
Touch Tackle was such an inspirational dog for our kennel last year, winning both the Queen Mother Memorial cup at Sheffield and going unbeaten thought out the category one Regency at Hove in 2015
We are always keen to promote British breeding here at Kelva and we are proud to announce that Touch Tackle recently sired his first litter when Sneezys Dippy produced 2 dogs and one bitch from there mating last week.
Added to that Touch Tackle also last week received a nomination for stayer of the year
He goes head to head with Millwards Teddy and Fizzypop Buddy for that honour and the result of that will be announced at the GBGB awards night at Lancaster Hotel in London on Sunday 19 January
Further to this Touch Tackle recently returned to the track with a handslip at Towcester some 7 months after fracturing a hock in Summer Classic at Monmore
It's always a concern bringing greyhounds back from serious injury but we must thank our vet Stefano Malagori and his team at Greyhound Sports Medicine for doing a superb job with his operation.
Touch will now progress to a sprint trial at Towcester as he continues to build fitness until he looks race fit again.
Also, exciting times ahead with our home bred Kelva Kissy pups starting trialling! They done very pleasing trials on the 7th Jan as a first look and will trialling again next week. Check out the availability page to see details for two of the puppies that are up for syndication (Keane and Kissy).
Graded Winners This Week
6th Jan - Kelva Maestro - A very impressive win for our homebred Express Destiny pup and his fastest time to date at Yarmouth (27.97)
6th Jan - Trasna Queen - A new arrival who has arrived with a 'bang'
