It was fantastic to meet some more members for the first time at the kennels today and to see so many owners and greyhounds go out for the walk. The Sun even made a surprise appearance after some early rain clouds so made for a lovely walk in the Countryside with all members looking as if they enjoyed it just as much as the dogs!

Hello all, I have set up a private premier league fantasy football league if anyone is interested in joining it. Prizes will be up for grabs but are yet to be confirmed, but by posting this now, it gives people time to scour through the listings and select their team. Register a team at fantasy.premierleague.com it's free to do and once your set up and picked your team, click on the join league option and enter code 649680-167667. You have £100m to spend on 2 x Goalkeepers 5 x Defenders 5 x Midfielders and 3 x Strikers with up to 3 players from one club. Week by week you can change your starting XI and if you have any suspensions/injuries then transfers can be made within your budget. Players values fluctuate during the season depending on performance. Hopefully we will get some good numbers involved. All the best Steve

What a fantastic day at the kennels today for everybody who visited. A big thank you to Steve Meikle who very genorously brought everything he needed with him to the kennels to cook bacon rolls and hot dogs for everybody as a lovely surprise. When it comes to barbeques this man doesn't mess around, he even remembered the paper plates and napkins!!! You done a fantastic job Steve and it was great to see so many owners socialising at the kennels, enjoying the BBQ and the sunshine!

Hi, We visited Jim's for the first time today to see Swift Ribena and her pups, when we arrived Jim was at the vets but on his way back, so we was greeted by Jim's wife, Scott, Steve, and Dave, plus some other owners, all was so friendly and gave us a lovely welcome. Scott and Steve took us to see Ribena and the pups, both were perfect hosts, Steve even going down the other side if the pen to let us see them run, they looked brilliant. Then we were taken to have something off the barbecue that Jim's wife was running and a nice cup of coffee, whilst we were being fed and watered Jim arrived back from the vets, to give us another warm welcome, and spending all time we wanted looking at the pups and being the perfect host. Thanks to everyone today, for the warm and friendly welcome, everybody showed us, we really enjoyed our visit to the kennels , and could not wish to be attached to a better kennel. Thank You.

Hi All Im now retired after working for Royal Mail for 40 years. I like most sports Horse Racing, Greyhound Racing, Athletics Had dogs many years ago running around Southend fawn bitch called Compsey Ivy and a black dog called Merrivale Suiti sadly both passed away many years ago. I decided to get back into greyhound racing as syndicates is a least expensive way for me as i couldnt afford to own a greyhound outright. I have met some wonderful people at the track and kennels and hopefully met some of the new members soon. Roger

Steve, It was great to see you and your family at the kennels today. It was also fascinating to hear how you became an owner of retired greyhounds and hope you enjoy the ownership of a racing greyhound just as much. Your childrens knowledge of greyhounds is astonishing for their age and great to see them taking a real interest in all the kennel dogs.

Really pleased you had a great day Steve, you've certainly got a great litter. As you said, if you'd have visiting earlier you would have kept them all! I really enjoy my sunday kennel visits. Great to see Archy and Rosie again and nice to meet Freddie. Of course the usual gang was there (Roger, Dave, Alan, Scott and Graham) Just glad I didn't have to do the cooking this week, but Jemma did a great job, thank you.

It did seem strange not being at the kennels this week and missed not seeing you all. Missed the dogs very much but will be there this sunday to see them all. Hi Diana your eggs are safe for now and i am glad you enjoyed your Sunday. Glad DJ and Bomber are ok after there runs on Friday, a real shame about the 6 dog in DJs race. How grateful i am everytime our dogs come off the track sound.

It was an awesome run from our boy. As Steve said virtually tailed off for 6 bends and then the turn of foot he showed was out of this world. It brought back memories of Scurlogue Champ. The boy has been involved in a triple dead heat at Romford.Won the rematch, broke the track record at Sittingbourne but for me last night caps everything off. The boy made his debut way back in March 2010 and being his home track i must admit for a very personal reason i wanted this more than anything and D J has brought a dream come true for me. Last nights performance will live in my memory forever and I will never forget Droopys Djokovic. Chubbs P.S I would like to thank Scott and Diana for there kind gift. Also my apologies to everyone for being very tearful after D Js win

GET IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely stuff dreams are made of, 20/1, no-one giving him a chance and he pulls that performance out of the bag. Looked like it was going to be carnage at the first bend but he rode a bump well, saw a gap and went for it. Pure guts and bravery sums this dog up, the elation on the faces of those in attendance was fantastic, massive lump in my throat. Well done to team Daly for turning him out so well, looked stunning and built like a brick sh*thouse! Some big name exits tonight too! No matter what happens Saturday I will be so proud of his effort, and he will be running on Derby night, be it in the Grand Final or the Consolation Trophy. He is the type of dog to appreciate quick runs which is a great advantage. Full of beans after the race, wanted to go again! Dreams can come true!
